Katha Feffer Cato
Katha Cato is a producer, filmmaker, educator, facilitator and award winning improviser whose career has been built around helping people find their voice. She co founded chipAway Productions and the Queens World Film Festival with Donald Preston Cato, producing films, festivals, educational programs and community based arts initiatives that celebrate independent artists and bring people together through storytelling.
After pioneering long form improvisation in New York with For Play Improvised Theatre, Katha built a career in youth development, arts education and film production. She has received a MAC Award, two Backstage Bistro Awards, the PASEsetter Award and numerous honors recognizing her work in the arts, education and community leadership.
Today Katha combines filmmaking, improvisation and facilitation to lead workshops, keynote presentations and creative experiences for artists, educators, nonprofit organizations and businesses. Whether she is producing a film, mentoring a filmmaker or leading an improv workshop, her goal is the same: to help people listen more deeply, collaborate more generously and create work that matters.
